Gas supply is important because it can be dangerous if not done correctly. If there is no gas coming out of the valve, this could mean that the valve has been damaged or broken. The technician will check the gas supply by turning off the main gas line and testing the pilot light. When it comes to gas heating systems, there are many different options available. Some people choose electric heating systems while others go for natural gas.

A qualified technician should handle the majority of the tasks involved in servicing your gas heater. This includes checking the safety features, cleaning the unit, inspecting the parts, and possible gas leaks and making sure everything works properly.

Frequently Asked Rinnai Service Questions

If the area around the thermostat sensor isn’t chilly enough, it might be why your heater isn’t coming on. See if you can determine that by turning up the thermostat all the way. When this does not succeed, perhaps a broken wire–either from the thermostat or from the heater–is at fault. If you do not observe any disconnected wires, then it is likely that there is a faulty gas valve. Replacing a gas valve requires expertise and should only be performed by a professional service technician for safety reasons.

A gas room heater fire up by using a pilot light to trigger the flame of the actual heater. If the light goes out, your particular type of gas heater cannot heat up the air. Maintaining the heater properly and troubleshooting simple light problems will prevent you from incurring costly repairs.

The natural or propane gas is funnelled to the tip of a pilot light via a supply line that is connected to a propane or natural gas supply. As the gas passes through the tip of the pilot, it is ignited by electronic or manual pilot light. Over time, this tip can become corroded and blocked, which prevents gas from exiting it. Through regular brushing and gentle scouring, you can easily remove any remaining carbon.

Burning logs inside a closed-vent fireplace can create some unwanted results. Soot accumulates on the burning logs. Natural gas emissions may also contain carbon monoxide.

If chimneys or flues do not have proper ventilation, they allow these gases to escape. A lack of ventilation can lead to low levels of oxygen in the room.

During combustion, partially burned fuel releases carbon atoms, resulting in the production of carbon dioxide.

Carbon monoxide combines with oxygen to make carbon dioxide. When the oxygen level becomes too low, carbon monoxide begins to build up in the air instead.

Deactivating the Function Lock is as simple as pressing both arrow buttons simultaneously for 2 seconds. Deactivate it at any time using this method.

During normal operation, all heater controls will be locked when the Function lock is activated, except for the OFF switch.

Deactivating the lock will release the controls. Activating the lock whilst the heater is in the OFF position will prevent it from turning ON again.

Please use a fan or open a window every hour or two after using a heater. If a user uses a heater continuously in an unventilated environment, he/she may suffer from carbon monoxide poisoning due to incomplete combustion. In the worst-case scenario, this could result in a fatality.

The filter can become clogged and prevent air intake, which will result in abnormal combustion and temperature rise.

The product will then fail. We recommend cleaning the filter once a month.

Typically, this means that the filter needs to be removed and cleaned.

However, before that can happen, turn OFF and unplug the electric components of the unit.

The unit should remain that way until the filter has been replaced. Plug the unit back in and turn the Master ON/OFF Switch to ON. From there, you can change it back to the settings you want.

You can convert a wide variety of gas stoves from propane to natural gas and vice versa. Some gas stoves require special adaptors or kits to convert them from propane to natural and back again.

In either case, make sure you check with the manufacturer before converting your appliances. Never try to connect an incompatible gas, as doing so can cause serious injuries or death.
